Featured Presentation

Modern Migration Tour 2019 - VANCOUVER, BC

Speaker: Richard Baumet

Summary: For the first half we will start off by going over the tools and strategies for upgrading/migrating your existing SQL Server Platform. A lot of you are thinking “yeah yeah Rich just run the upgrade advisor”, and I thought the same way but I was quite surprised by the investments Microsoft has put in to make this even a better story for various situations with a few tools and interesting strategies. I’d tell you more but it kind of like telling you about Avengers: EndGame. For the second half we will look at some of the new features and fun stuff SQL Server 2019 has in store, why?... because it is cool!!! I will attempt to fit in quite a bit of content in just a couple of hours.

About The Speaker(s):

Richard Baumet has been working for Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management ( now under RBC Global Asset Management Inc.) for the last 13 years as a SQL Server DBA. He has also been the local PASS (Professional Association for SQL Server) Chapter leader for the last 7 years and a member since 2002. Has presented at Local PASS Chapter, DevTeach, TechDays, Prairie Dev Con, and SQL Saturdays.
